Day 1: Kochi
Cochin (Arrival)
The vehicle to the hotel departs from Cochin Airport. Check-in and freshen up. Dinner. Overnight in Cochin.
Day 2: Munnar
Route: Cochin - Munnar (140 Kms/4 Hrs Drive)
After breakfast, discover the city tour of Cochin - Visit the Mattancherry Dutch Palace - (closed on Fridays and public holidays), which was built by the Portuguese in 1555 and renovated by the Dutch in 1663. Visit the Jewish Synagogue (closed on all Saturdays and Jewish holidays) in Jew Town and Fort Cochin Area. There are a couple of streets of picture-postcard houses out of another age. Visit St. Francis Church - (closed on Sundays from 08.00 to 11.00 hrs) the oldest European Church in India. It has several antiquities including a wealth of records. See the Chinese Fishing Nets, along the tip of Fort Cochin, which is a unique feature of this part of Kerala and a symbol of the centuries-old Chinese influence on this coast. Later on, we will transfer to Munnar. Munnar is 1800 meters above sea level and is also the place of South India's highest peak (Anamudi-2695 meters). Have a brief visit to Munnar town. One can see the beautiful tea estates like a green paradise. Overnight stay at Munnar. [All Entrances on Direct Payments].
Day 3: Munnar
Munnar Sightseeing
After breakfast, visit the many sights Munnar has to offer, including the famous tea plantations. We see Maduppatty Dam, Echo Point, Kundalay Dam, Pothenmedu View Point, Blossom Park, and visit either one of the 2 attractions: the Tea Museum or Eravikulam National Park (This is decided on the ground as per the availability and rush). Tea Museum (Monday Closed) – offers an informative and enjoyable session on the history of tea plantations, factories, and their roles in the Munnar region. Followed by various stages of tea processing which includes the making of black tea and a tea tasting session. [We Do Eravikulam National Park if Tea Museum is closed: The National Park has rich flora and fauna of the region. (Eravikulam National Park is shut around Jan to April; during these dates, Park visits cannot be done but all other sightseeing tours shall be provided as per the itinerary). Overnight stay at Munnar. Overnight in Munnar. [All Entrances on Direct Payments].
Day 4: Thekkady
Route: Munnar – Thekkady (120 Kms/4 Hrs Drive)
Today after breakfast depart for Thekkady and arrive in Thekkady. Transfer to hotel. Amongst mountains that lie between 700 and 1900 meters above sea level, Periyar has a cool and comfortable climate. In the afternoon, guests will be at leisure. The town also houses one of the most exciting natural wildlife sanctuaries in the world. 1500 Hrs - Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary where you can do a wildlife safari on the boat over Lake Periyar. The Park encompasses 26 square kilometers of an artificial lake, which allows you to take a boat ride to view wild animals and water birds, and herds of elephants and bison come to the lake to drink water. Guests may opt to explore the local market for shopping for fresh spices or use the hotel's travel desk to explore various activities in the destination. 1800 Hrs – Martial Art Show witness the Kalaripayattu Martial Art Show for 1 hr. – an ancient South Indian martial art and one of the oldest fighting systems in existence today. Day 5: Kumarakom/ Alleppey
Route: Thekkady – Kumarakom / Alleppey (160 kms /4 hrs)
After breakfast, check out of the hotel. Drive to Kumarakom/Alleppey and arrive by the afternoon, check into the hotel and enjoy the rest of the day at leisure or take an optional cruise on the backwaters. Stay overnight at the hotel.
Day 6: Kovalam
Route: Alleppey – Kovalam / Poovar / Trivandrum (190kms/4.5hrs)
After a delicious breakfast, drive from Alleppey and reach Kovalam Beach. Kovalam Beach, located within the boundaries of Thiruvananthapuram city of Kerala, can be found situated by the beautiful Arabian Sea. As we reach Kovalam, we will check into the resort. We will then unwind and revive Kovalam's already heavily ornate crown. Later, we will proceed to visit Lighthouse Beach, one of the main attractions, and Samudra Beach, which is the Jewel in Kovalam's already heavily ornate crown. After exploring Kovalam, let’s get back to the hotel through picture-perfect scenery.
Day 7: Kovalam
Route: (81kms/2.10hrs) Kovalam / Poovar / Trivandrum Excursion to Kanyakumari
After breakfast, we will visit Shri Padmanabhswamy Temple and Napier Museum, followed by Kanyakumari Temple and the Vivekananda Rock Memorial. After visiting the attractions, you will be taken back to the hotel for a comfortable stay.
Day 8: Kovalam
Route: Depart Kovalam / Poovar / Trivandrum
Check out of the hotel after breakfast. Drive to Trivandrum airport/railway station for your onward journey.
